A jeweller kept a diamond of mass $$5.42gm$$ inside a box of mass $$.12kg$$. Find the combined mass of diamond and box upto appropriate significant figures.

SOLUTION

Weight of diamond $$=5.42g$$

So, $$g=0.00542kg$$

Then,

Total weight $$=1.2+0.00542$$
$$=1.20542kg$$

Hence, the combined mass of diamond and box is $$1.2kg$$
