Physics

Find the dimensions of
1) Force
2) power
3) density
4) momentum
5) velocity

SOLUTION

1)      1. Force = mass x acceleration $$=\ kg\ \times \ m{{s}^{-2}}\ =kg\,m{{s}^{-2}}=[M{{L}^{1}}{{T}^{-2}}]$$

2)      2. Power = force x displacement/time $$=\ kg\ m{{s}^{-2}}\times m{{s}^{-1}}=[M{{L}^{2}}{{T}^{-3}}]$$

3)      3. Density= mass/volume $$=\ {kg/{m}^{3}}=[{{M}^{1}}{{L}^{3}}{{T}^{o}}]$$

4)      4. Momentum = mass x velocity  $$=kg\times m{{s}^{-1}}=kg\,m{{s}^{-1}}=[ML{{T}^{-1}}]$$

5)      5. Velocity = Distance/meter $$=m{{s}^{-1}}=[{{M}^{o}}L{{T}^{-1}}]$$
