If the unit of mass is $$\dfrac { 1 }{ 2 } kg$$ and that of length is $$2$$ m and the unit of time is one second, the unit of pressure is:

ANSWER

0.25 pascal

SOLUTION

$$\displaystyle Pressure=\frac{force}{Area}$$

                  $$=\dfrac{M^{1}L^{1}T^{-2}}{L^{2}}$$

                  $$=ML^{-1}T^{-2}$$

                  $$\displaystyle =\frac{1}{2}\times\frac{1}{2}\times \frac{1}{(1)^{2}}\frac{kg}{ms^{2}} $$

                  $$=\dfrac{1}{4}

=0.25 \ pascal$$

Q3 Single Correct Medium
The number of particles crossing a unit area perpendicular to the x-axis in a unit area perpendicular to the $$x - axis$$ in a unit time is given by $$n= -D\left(\dfrac{n_2 - n_1}{x_2 - x_1}\right)$$, where $$n_1$$ and $$n_2$$ are the number of particles per unit volume at $$x = x_1$$ and $$x = x_2$$, respectively, and D is the diffusion constant. The dimensions of D are
  • A. $$[M^0LT^{-2}]$$
  • B. $$[M^0L^2T^{-4}]$$
  • C. $$[M^0L^2T^{-2}]$$
  • D. $$[M^0L^2T^{-1}]$$
