SOLUTION
From figure, we have
$50^{\circ}+x+90^{\circ}=180^{\circ}$  (Angles made on straight line)
$\Rightarrow x+{ 140 }^{ \circ }={ 180 }^{ \circ }\\ \Rightarrow x={ 180 }^{ \circ }-{ 140 }^{ \circ }={ 40 }^{ \circ }$
Therefore, $q=x$   (Vertically opposite angles)
$\Rightarrow q=40^{\circ}$
