In figure, OA and OB are opposite rays if $x=25^o$, what is the value of y?

SOLUTION
Given, $x=25^o$

=>$3x^o=75^o$

We know that, $\angle AOC, \angle BOC$ are linear pair of angles.

=> $\angle AOC+\angle BOC=180^0$

$(2y+5)^o+3x^0=180$

$2y+5+75=180$                          ∵ $3x^o=75^o$]

$2y+80=180$

$2y=180-80$

$y= \dfrac{100}{2}$

$\therefore y =50$
