In figure, OA and OB are opposite rays if $$x=25^o$$, what is the value of y?


SOLUTION
Given, $$x=25^o$$

=>$$3x^o=75^o$$

We know that, $$\angle AOC, \angle BOC $$ are linear pair of angles.

=> $$\angle AOC+\angle BOC=180^0$$

$$(2y+5)^o+3x^0=180$$

$$2y+5+75=180$$                          ∵ $$3x^o=75^o$$]        

$$2y+80=180$$                              

$$2y=180-80$$

$$ y= \dfrac{100}{2}$$

$$\therefore y =50$$
